Rising Car Arson And Insurance Fraud Costs Everyone

July 21st, 2009 by · No Comments · Uncategorized

Due to the recent economic slowdown which is evidenced by every indicator (except the ones George Bush uses) car and SUV owners with payments they cannot afford are turning to arson to break their debts. This isn’t new, however as car arson (or torching) and insurance fraud have been going on for decades.
The problem is that it is now seen in direct correlation to the economy. When the economy is positive, the level of insurance fraud tends to taper off. When the economy experiences a slowdown or negative growth (George Bush would probably call this a lull or some other four letter word) people find them selves with debts that they can no longer afford and are trapped in. As times get more desperate, the higher the number of people willing to burn or have their vehicles burned and risk getting caught.
During the last two years there has been a marked increase in car arson and insurance fraud in every state from California to North Carolina. Yes, there are cars that were really stolen, vandalized and then burned, but there is a marked difference. In cases of true theft, the thief is usually trying to remove anything that could link it back or identify themselves. In the case of a intentional burn in insurance fraud, the arsonist will attempt to make the car become rendered totaled (so far gone it cannot possibly be fixed). Usually, arson investigators will find accelerants were used like gas and other flammable liquids.
Due to this increase in car arson and insurance fraud cases, arson task forces have ben set up in many counties. In California they have even linked new and used car dealership personnel as instigators in many arson cases. Someone comes into the dealership overloaded with debt and wants to get out of a high car payment by trading in their car or vehicle. They find out they are “up side down”, a term referring to the fact that they owe much more than their car is worth. The salesperson or similar employee, realizing money can be made, refers them to a local arsonist and the car is then burned. There have been numerous published cases like these and they are growing.
The problem here is four fold; people are being sold cars they can’t afford, they aren’t taking the proper responsibility for their debts, they aren’t properly schooled on debt, and the result is an increase in insurance costs for everyone. These can all be fixed. In California numerous consumer protection laws have been passed which obligate the dealer to be more responsible, but more needs to be done like enforcing maximum debt ratios. There should be standard education in secondary schools on debt and money management. If we can offer classes on home economics (cooking), marketing, and UFO’s, Madonna, etc… (just look at a Cal Tech class list), then we can offer or make mandatory a class on debt and money. According to many experts like Suze Orman and Anthony Robbins, debt, money, wealth, and happiness can all be learned and taught. A class on debt and money management should also be mandatory for all politicians (Could you imagine how great are economy would be if George Bush envisioned America’s economy as his own and tried to cut the national debt instead of tripling it?) Debts are obligations we create and there are legal ways out of debt. Car arson and insurance fraud hurts everyone, not just those who commit it.

The Importance of Time Management in Life

July 21st, 2009 by · No Comments · Uncategorized

Time is something that you can never take back.
What is done is done. Nothing in history can be changed. The most we can do about anything that has already been done is to take counter measures to prevent the damage from spreading. However, there is one more effective way to stop the damage and that is to prevent it.
Prevention is better than cure.
This quote is most often used in terms of disease and illness; however, this can also be done for future mistakes. Time management is a form of prevention, specifically cramming, low quality work, even fatigue prevention. Some say that the one thing that a busy person needs to manage is time.
Why is time management so important? Time is the most important commodity. Time never comes back. It never rewinds like videotape. Here are the most common reasons why time is so important:
1. Time cannot be stored
Everyone no matter how rich or poor spends time the same way, it doesn’t speed up for the rich and slow down for the poor. Time management is equal to wise usage of time. This may be the difference between fame and failure.
2. Time is rare
Yes, everybody has the same number of hours, but haven’t you noticed that people are complaining that they don’t have enough of it? There is just so little time and so much to do that people go out of focus. Time management means giving importance to priorities and nearer deadlines and these give you enough for the crucial activities in life.
3. Time is needed for everything
Everything takes time; everything needs time to materialize. With time management, each task is given enough time to be finished. By giving a sliver of time for each of your goals and accounting for it wisely, you will be able to achieve them, plus make time for rest. Truth is, even little time produces work. If distributed wisely throughout the day or week, you would be surprised to how much you can accomplish.
4. Time management helps you finish more jobs with less effort
By allotting a certain amount of time for each activity, you do not have to worry about the next thing that you will do. With time management, you become more organized and the things you do become more habitual than panic-driven. By making it a habit, you become more productive. As Aristotle said, We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit.
In modern times, each product, place, or gadget has minute differences that make it very hard for you to choose. There are so many opportunities to choose from as to what to do with your time. By having a plan, you will be able to make intelligent choices. By becoming more conscious of the available time and the choices you’ve made so far, you focus more on your priorities rather than useless work.
Time management is indeed a gem. Once it becomes a habit, it will be more beneficial than time-consuming.

Good Water With Water Purifier

July 21st, 2009 by · No Comments · Uncategorized

Many developing and under developed countries in Asia and Africa do not have pure, potable and safe drinking water. Bacteria and virus cause serious diseases like typhoid, polio, gastro enteritis to name a few. It is a matter of great concern as water borne diseases are rampant in the poorer parts of the world claiming many lives specially of children. Water purifier is a necessity in most homes in these parts of the world.
Good quality water purifier will give water that is pure in all respects like physically, microbiologically and organically without any chances of being contaminated again. Installing a water purifier ensures that we get pure water right from the tap. Water purifiers are available in many sizes to cater to different needs.
Portable water purifiers have the lowest price. Other varieties are point of use purifier, purifiers for large buildings/houses or commercial organizations and cooler systems. The advanced purification technique of these systems tackles most of the harmful and toxic chemicals, metals and minerals, microbes and bacteria or virus.
Purifiers also use the reverse osmosis process. This is a very common method of water purification and can be used in small portable or camp purifiers as well as big systems in big houses or other places. The reverse osmosis membranes remove most of the harmful elements. They can also put up with extreme pH pressure without leaking or bursting. But for this durability, the system has to be manufactured with an eye on the quality.
Installing a water purifier is totally hassle free. Large manufacturers give the option of buying online and display their products with complete details. This is a boon for very busy persons who are unable to visit the store within stipulated hours.
After choosing the water purifier brand, all that remains is buying the system be it online or going over to the store physically and having it installed in the designated place.
Most manufacturers give warranties. In case of part replacement or breakdown, the service in most cases is prompt and up to the mark. Maintenance is equally easy without any headaches. Affordability is always a big issue, but most of the systems are very cost effective.
Water purification systems are a necessity not only for domestic purposes, but they are widely used in nursing homes, hospitals, and in research laboratories. All these places require pure clean water and only the very best systems are installed as there is no compromise when it comes to quality.

Law of Attraction, Money and You – Part I

July 21st, 2009 by · No Comments · Uncategorized

It is not surprising that when most people discover that the Law of Attraction will awaken their thoughts and emotions to attract whatever they want in life, these will inevitably turn to money. Money – something that all (if not most) of us want, and for some, it seems that we can never get enough of it.
Money is a necessity of modern society. No one can survive without it but there is a lot more to money than what we see. The amount of money we have decides the quality, freedom and enjoyment that we can have in our daily lives. If we have less money, all the pleasures and enjoyment that we had will be severely dampened and we have less options.
If we all know this, why is it so difficult for us to make the kind of money that can give us our heart’s desires?
The answer lies in Money – what it really is. Money is not just pieces of paper or collection of metal coins in your wallet… it actually represents the FLOW of energy through our lives. One fundamental we find in people who have a lack of money is that they also have a great lack in other areas of their lives. Whether that lack affects their relationships, health or inner peace, it is clear that there is a blockage somewhere.
So the first thing to understand before you can use the Law of Attraction to increase the flow of money is you life, is where are the blockages in your life and WHY are they there? Most people do not know, or skip over the importance of this step simply because they feel uncomfortable in confronting their blockages. To get around it, they would “bandage the wounds” of the blockages by focusing on prosperity affirmations and visualizations. They think that by convincing themselves by doing and saying the right things, the Law of Attraction can be persuaded to open the floodgates of money for them.
What? You think this will work? It does not for the very simple reason that the Law of Attraction and Energy goes hand in hand. Our beliefs and emotions affect the frequency of our vibrations and when there are blockages, we cannot attract what we really want. So even if you work on your visualization exercises and repeat all those affirmation messages 24 hours a day, it will not work – unless you remove all those blockages.
How do you know if you have such a blockage? You have to be sensitive to what you are doing. Do you experience a constant sense of being blocked, stuck, and unable to move beyond a certain point no matter what you do? Do you wonder why certain techniques seem to work well for others but just do not work for you? You have tried everything and you work harder and faster than anyone you know, and yet… nothing happens and you give up in frustration because nothing you have tried seems to work!
Did I just describe you?
When you feel that there are energy blockages in your life, simply take some time to quietly contemplate and think about what could be causing all these blockages. Then work at destroying these blockages. You may not be able to breakdown all at one go but start with the smaller ones… and then you will find that it gets easier as you grow in confidence.
In my next article, I will talk about three simple steps that will help you identify and break down all your energy blockages. Look out for it!

National Security and Our Family Unit

July 21st, 2009 by · No Comments · Uncategorized

Over the years, as things have changed and evolved between men and women, we have lost sight of all the ramifications of these changes. America was the leader in the world in the eyes of many other nations. Although many other societies don’t necessarily agree with many of the USA’s ways and beliefs, most have had a relatively high level of respect for our great nation.
Democracy and the free capitalistic system we represent are the envy of many. In the last several years, the USA has lost much of this respect. Many now look at us as intrusive, hypocritical fools. Many of the cultures we are having trouble with have very strong traditional religious beliefs. They are very set in their ways with respect to their family unit.
Many believe, as do I, that the family unit is the heart of any society. The family unit and its traditional values are central to many of these cultures. The men in these cultures must be strong and in control of their families. They must be respected and appreciated, much like it used to be here forty years ago.
Since 9/11, we have all come to believe that terrorists are our nation’s biggest threat. I’ve got news for you. Although the terrorist issue is of great imminent concern, the deterioration of our family unit and the large increase of the dysfunctional family is a much bigger national threat than terrorists will ever be.
Terrorists can be curtailed and their wrath isolated. The breakdown of the family unit, the major increase in divorce, and single parenting is eating away at our entire country from within.
It’s like a cancer. Have you ever heard of the military strategy of “divide and conquer?” I believe this is what is happening to us. We are being divided by the deterioration of our basic social structure, only to be vulnerable to be conquered later. No greater damage can be done to our country than the slow, steady, systematic deterioration of basic family unit standards and our traditional moral fiber.
Any country’s youth is its future, and our youth are looking pretty grim. With the advent of the unfair marriage laws and the resulting high divorce rate and de-balling of the modern male, our youth are not being led and raised with any of the old morals. Selfishness has become the order of the day.
People these days don’t even look at getting a job and raising a family until almost middle age. Forty years ago, if you weren’t working and married with kids by twenty-five, something was wrong. Today, people haven’t even decided what they want to be when they grow up until their late twenties.
We only live to be around seventy. If you haven’t even made that decision until you’re thirty, you’ve already lived almost half your life before figuring out what’s up and what’s down. If this continues, can you imagine what it will do to our tax base in years to come? The de-balling of the modern male, which was created by the high divorce rate, is also breaking down our country’s structure. The same way terrorists must be squashed at all cost, so must this process of steadily eroding family values.
We are going around the world advocating our values, beliefs, and ways of life, and here we are in total lack of control of the basic values which form a society. Other countries have satellites and TVs. They see shows like Jerry Springer, The View, and the rest of them.
They know the way men are treated in the USA. They see how men have become a bunch of wimps, caving to and fearing women. How men are persecuted and how we applaud their persecution. Women here rule in all ways, and the world knows it.
Men get their penises sliced off while they sleep, and the mate who did it goes free and gets applauded by the rest of the women in the USA. Others can see the complete lack of respect and the humiliation that men are subjected to at the hands of the superior women.
We’re trying to tell them they should be like us, and here they are laughing at the men of the USA for being a bunch of submissive wusses who have no control over their women, lives, or families. We’re telling a society that believes women must be kept in veils that our way is better.
They know the American woman is out being as promiscuous as she can on the eve of her marriage, while hubby sits at home babysitting her kids from her previous two marriages.
If you stop and think about it, it’s actually comical. We’re asking them to sign up for that? There is no way they will want to have anything to do with our way of life. I’m not suggesting that the USA’s female chauvinists have caused our rifts with these nations, but I can tell you it has a lot to do with the lack of respect that is being shown to the USA.
How can you show respect for a nation whose basic family unit and structure is in such a chaotic state? How can you respect men who allow themselves to be degraded the way they are? We have to get our affairs in order, not only for the sake of our nation’s future, but also to regain a little respect back from the rest of the world.
As much as many societies see democracy as good and advantageous, they are threatened when you start talking about human rights, women’s rights, and minority rights. Not necessarily because they don’t believe in those people’s rights, but because they’ve seen what those programs have led to in the United States, how those programs get abused and taken too far.
The pendulum always swings too far when America tries to look after a certain group of people. It’s undeniable and apparent to all other nations and cultures. That’s part of what scares them. They see it has failed here, yet we haven’t seen it ourselves.
We must make our family laws fair again and stop prosecuting men. We must stop putting good, innocent, hard-working men in jail simply because some wife’s lawyer has figured out that strategically it works to her advantage. We must start to respect all people again.
We must recognize that men and women are and should be very different. Each of their priorities and ways of thinking must not be the same. Although different, men and women must be equal. We can’t confuse being different from each other to being equal to each other.
Men should be men and women should be women; they should be different, but equal. The pendulum must be put to the neutral position, not favoring either men or women. Then and only then will the divorce rate start to drop, single parenting will slow, and the de-balling process can start to be reversed.
Maybe then we will start to eliminate the level of dysfunctional families. Maybe then men will step up and commit the way they used to without the fear of being tormented, abused, taken advantage of, and persecuted for no good reason.
National security must start from within. As a nation, we have to preserve the sanctity of old family values. We must raise our offspring in an even, balanced way so that they get the equal influence of both parents. Men have to get back to the point where they don’t totally fear marriage and commitment.
Nothing threatens our nation’s security more than these issues. If this deterioration continues and is not reversed, we are going to be in big trouble in the years to come. We will be the joke of the world instead of the envy of the world. Even our staunchest supporters will turn on us if we don’t get our own house in order.
No matter how great our system and way of life is, if we don’t have control of our home lives and have a sound family unit, we will not be successful and will not have the respect of others. We will also be vulnerable to being divided and destroyed by our adversaries.

Lobster – An Impressive and Delicious Species

July 20th, 2009 by · No Comments · Uncategorized

You will feel like a King when eating fresh lobster and you never forget your first taste. Lobster is a delicacy and there are many ways to prepare and enjoy it.
Before heading out and buying one, you should learn a bit about what exactly a lobster is, how to prepare and serve it and where to buy it from.
A lobster is part of the marine species of crustaceans. You get them in different varieties, some with claws and others without. Some clawless ones include slipper lobsters, spiny lobsters and squat lobsters. Each has a slightly different taste and they look different too. Prices vary depending on the type of lobster you get.
Some of the best known and most popular types are the clawed lobster, the reef lobster and freshwater crawfish, which are found in a lot of southern and Creole recipes.
If you are a food lover, seafood is probably on your repertoire of favorite foods, including lobster. Lobster has often been referred to as the “king of seafood” and rightly so. The lobster is a regal looking creature both in the sea and on the plate, and definitely packed with plenty of flavor. And as with any royalty, lobster does not come cheap.
The best prices (and usually the nicest, freshest lobster too) can be found in coastal regions and fishing villages. If you are far from the sea, the price will be higher. On average, a pound of lobster costs between $7.95 and $29.95, depending on the shop and its location.
If you plan to spend that much on a meal, it is very important that you know how to prepare and cook the lobster. It might seem daunting because it is a new food and cost a lot but it is quite easy to prepare lobster. You should buy one lobster per person, as a general rule. Some fishmongers offer to steam the lobster before you go home with it but it is best to take the lobster home live if you can because the taste will be fresher.
When you have grilled, boiled or steamed your lobster, you can choose a simple recipe to use it in. One way is to serve the lobster with a bib, some butter and lemon to squeeze over it.
Simple recipes tend to be the best with lobster because it has its own special taste and too many frills will detract from that. If you have any left over (unlikely but possible nonetheless!) you can take the shell off and make a po’boy sandwich or a lobster salad for the following day.
Remember you don’t need to know anything about gourmet food to enjoy a delicious dish like lobster. You need to understand where to buy it, how to prepare it and get hold of a basic lobster recipe. This will definitely result in a meal to remember. If you have never tried it, why not visit your local seafood restaurant and order some? The delectable flavor will make you want to buy and cook some yourself the next time!

Bloggers Need to Beware of Violating FTC Deceptive Practice Standards When Making Endorsements

July 20th, 2009 by · No Comments · Uncategorized

The Federal Trade Commission (“the Commission or FTC”) has handed down an advisory opinion that may have dire consequences for companies that employ individuals who are involved in blogging and promote those companies products or services while blogging. According to the Commission, this may hold true even if these employees are undertaking this blogging on their personal time and even if the company management has no idea of what may be going on. The Commission advises that such a blogger must make readers aware of his or her connection with the company whose products or services he or she is endorsing.
The FTC has concluded in this advisory opinion that these specific actions may constitute deceptive business practices in violation of the Federal Trade Commission Act. The Federal Trade Commission Act defines a deceptive business practice as sets forth below:
1. a practice that represents or omits material information that likely would mislead reasonable consumers under the circumstances; and,
2. a practice that involves a representation or omission that is of material importance to consumers
The Commission continually and regularly has found that a seller’s failure to disclose a relationship that would materially effect a consumer’s opinion is deceptive.
In the case of the advisory opinion, the specific concern was the weight that a consumer will naturally give to a sponsored endorser. The Federal Trade Commission Endorsement Guides set forth:
“(W)hen there exists a connection between the endorser and the seller of the advertised product that might materially affect the weight or credibility of the endorsement . . . such connection must be fully disclosed.”
A connection is deemed to exist in most instances when the endorser (here, a blogger) is paid by the company responsible for providing the product or service or when an endorser has a close business association (or has a relative with such an association) with such a company. Without a doubt, according to the Commission, employees of a business have such a close business association and their connection must be made public when they make any endorsement.
The bottom line is that it appears that companies and businesses have a duty to pro-actively monitor their employees blogging habits and warn them about the perils of making endorsements through blogging when their connection to that business enterprise is not made public. In a similar vein, if the employee is making negative statements about a competitor, his or her association with his or her employer must be made public to avoid violating FTC regulations.

Finish Your Book Faster n Sell Sooner

July 20th, 2009 by · No Comments · Uncategorized

Are you wondering if you’ll ever finish your book? May I be honest? You won’t if you use the start and stop method I used for years. I’d start fast then life happened.
My manuscript would end up in the drawer with the rest of my unfinished projects. No more, now I finish my book projects strong and fast. I learned from my mentors who showed me the way. I even learned from my competitors who finished their books fast to sell sooner.
Here are some speedwriting tips to help you finish fast and sell sooner:
1. Put your book goals in your top 3 priorities.
Setup a regular writing schedule. Think about your priorities right now. Can you fit 7-10 hours a week in? If you have to let something go that is not high on your priority list, do it. Now is your time. Later is not better. Set yourself up for a successfully written book this year by making your book goal a top priority. After it’s done, remember to reward yourself.
2. Develop an intention statement for your book.
Do you have a plan in place? Write on purpose. Don’t set yourself up for failure by not planning. Even if it’s a simple intention goal like “I complete my book (title of book) this year by (date and year.) I educate myself and do what it takes to complete it.” Set one and write it down so you can hit the target.
3. Write your book the easy way to finish fast.
Five of the top ways to speed write your book includes: Act Now. Action will paralyze fear each and every time. Avoid marathon writing. Know you don’t have to become a hermit to write and complete a successful book. Commit to the tracking approach. Doing a set amount, even if it’s only 30 minutes to an hour- each day builds a cumulative effect.
Know you don’t have to write chapters in order. You can jump around and fill in the blanks to gain momentum. Maintain your momentum. Don’t give in to writers block. Move on to work on the chapter you feel passion bubbling for at that moment.
4. Use laser focus. Apply laser focus to complete your book writing project faster.
For example, if you look at a 40 watt bulb, the light is soft. It’s not even strong enough to light an average room sufficiently. Yet you can take the same 40 watts; put it in a laser gun and get a totally different output. In the laser gun, the same 40 watts become a focused beam of light that can cut through different objects like a sharp knife through paper.
Same amount of energy but different focus. To use laser focus in your book project, prioritize, do only one project at a time and complete one project before you start another.
If you don’t use these techniques to finish fast, you may be this time next year working on the same book project. Remember to put your book writing in the top 3 priorities of your life, write an intention goal, learn to write the easy way and use laser focus.
Using the above simple tips you can easily write and complete your book. Finish fast; finish strong and sell sooner.

I for one, hope they continue to establish themselves as a company that offers great unique and contemporary designs while maintaining great customer service, experience and prices.
